Christmas home tour

Christmas home tour

It's that most magical time of the year again, and I've done alot of decorating, so I thought I'd do some blog posts. Since they will be picture heavy, I'm dividing them up by different areas in the house.

As you can see, this post is my living room. I'd like to think of it as a "winter wonderland" with lots of white and neutrals. But don't worry, if you like color, stay tuned for other areas where you'll see my mix of red and aqua!

I obviously love pillows, so my sectional (from Ikea) is covered in them....and soft fuzzy throws!

This little feather tree is adorned with my prized pink and green vintage glass ornaments, and sits in a corner of the room.
Next up is my antique buffet that I chalk painted after moving here. It's the home of my Christmas glitter houses and bottle brush trees.

I did a blog post last year about buying these bottle brush trees and bleaching them. Still one of my favorite little cheap decorations!

I got this silver tray with the snowmen last year at an antique mall, and thought it was so cute!
Definately LOVE holiday pillows!! The Christmas tree farm and Peace and Joy can be found in my Society6 shop along with alot of other holiday styles!
And now....my tree! This year I bought a King Of Christmas prelit 7.5 ft flocked tree and I am so happy with it!!! It goes together really easy in 3 parts, and isn't heavy. I can carry it and put it together myself :)

Another post will be dedicated to my family room that has my flocked tree full of colorful vintage glass ornaments. Stay tuned!

Halloween/Fall decor

Hi everyone! Since my kids are long grown and gone from the home, I stopped doing Halloween decorating and had gotten rid of all the stuff I used to have. But then..... while I was out browsing in an antique shop a few weeks ago, I stumbled on these bottles!!  I thought to myself, how great are these? And at $3-5 each, I couldn't pass them up. I just about wiped the supply clean, but did leave a few for other shoppers :)
So basically, this area on my buffet is the only place I decorated.
I had a bouquet of $3.99 sunflowers from Trader Joes that I used after they dried and wilted. (who knew they would look so cool?) I gathered up fall leaves from a parking lot, and found a few old books to use to give varying degrees of height.

Aren't they just the coolest bottles? The woman that made them did an awesome job!!
